Song of the Week 11/16/09 – 11/23/09

16 November 2009

Marcus Schössow & Andy Duguid Feat Emma Hewitt – Light
Album: Outside The Box
Genre: Trance
Released: 2009
Rating: 5/5

Emma Hewitt’s voice is the highlight of the track. The breakdowns are my favorite part when its just her voice isolated. The song’s actual tune is nice though. I’ve been listening to this a lot at work the past week. Enjoy :)

9 November 2009

Rei Kondoh – You May Call Me Father
Game: Bayonetta
Genre: Game
Released: 2006
Rating: 4/5

I just got this soundtrack and listened to it all day while I was at work. This is my favorite track so far, so therefore its the song of the week. It has some epic parts… like at 4:15 specifically. This soundtrack basically sold the game to me. I can’t wait to get it January. I will be uploading some other songs to my YouTube account. Check it out.

Song of the Week 11/02/09 – 11/08/09

2 November 2009

Single Gun Theory – Great Palaces of Immortal Splendour
Album: Like Stars In My Hands
Genre: Electronic
Year: 1991
Rating: 4/5

I started listening to Single Gun Theory about two years ago. I discovered them because their main vocalist, Jacqui Hunt is featured on a few Delerium songs. I am addicted to her voice… this song is a prime example of why I enjoy her so much. I actually listened to this song on accident one day when I was listening to Adema – Immortal; this song was next in my iTunes library. I wish all their songs were like this one…

Song of the Week 10/26/09 – 11/01/09

26 October 2009

Hideyuki Fukasawa – Monks Stage ~Forest~
Album: Chaos Legion
Genre: Game
Year: 2003
Rating: 4/5

This song is great. I like the rhythm of the drums. What catches my attention though is monk and female background vocals. The song starts off good but the song changes its tone with those two elements. Those vocals are what grab my attention. Been listening to it on repeat lately. Enjoy.

Song of the Week 10/19/09 – 10/25/09

19 October 2009

Alice In Videoland – Better Off
Album: Outrageous!
Genre: Electronic
Year: 2005
Rating: 4/5

I found this band on a music sharing site, listened to this song once, rated it, and forgot about it. Then while driving the other night I heard it on random; upgraded it to a 4 star track. Their sound is somewhat unique to me.

Song of the Week 10/12/09 – 10/18/09

12 October 2009

E.S. Posthumus – Pompeii
Album: Unearthed
Genre: Production, Electronic
Year: 2001
Rating: 5/5

The video you see above is a trailer I made for my website http://biohazardmercenaries.com – It is a video made to recruit other Resident Evil 5 Mercenaries players to the site. The song worked perfectly. I picked it out when it came on my iPod randomly at the gym. EPIC.

Song of the Week 10/05/09 – 10/11/09

Amethystium – La Pluie
Album: Isabliss
Genre: New Age
Year: 2006
Rating: 5/5

Ever since I heard this song I’ve liked it. But only recently has it really grown on me and been upgraded to a 5 star song. I think this is new age electronica at its best. The vocals are beautiful. This is one of Amethystium’s best tracks. Just amazing.

Song of the Week 09/28/09 – 10/04/09

28 September 2009

The Veronicas – Untouched
Album: Hook Me Up
Genre: Pop Rock
Year: 2009
Rating: 4/5

I like the tempo of the lyrics of the song. The chorus is pretty good. I always heard this at the gym and I finally heard it again at a time where I could listen and take note of the lyrics. The vocalists are freaking sexy. Their black gothic style. OMG, perfect.

Song of the Week 09/20/09 – 09/27/09

20 September 2009

Hayato Matsuo – Forest (Southeast Asia)
Album: Front Mission 3 Original Soundtrack
Genre: Game
Year: 1999
Rating: 4/5

I heard this song in a Resident Evil Mercenaries video. I ended up already having it on my computer but had never listened to it. Besides Front Mission 3, he also has some good tracks featured on the Final Fantasy XII soundtrack. This song reminds me of the show “Legends of The Hidden Temple” on Nickelodeon.
