Song of the Week 07/06/09 – 07/12/09

Soldout – The Darkest Night
Album: Cuts
Genre: Electronic
Released: 2008
Rating: 5/5

I can’t remember exactly how I found out about Soldout. But I’ve always had a progressive trance remix of their song “Maybe Tomorrow.” I was looking them up on discogs.com and found they had their own albums. So therefore I listened to their stuff. This song is easily the best song I’ve heard of theirs so far. This track is kick ass awesome. Some of their other stuff is good, but this stands out for sure.

Song of the Week 06/29/09 – 07/05/09

Immediate Music – Age of Discovery
Album: Themes For Orchestra & Choir 3 & Trailerhead
Genre: Production, Trailer
Released: 2009
Rating: 5/5

This is a beautiful song. Luckily for me I saw it performed live for the first time ever at the Globus / Immediate Music concert in Santa Monica. I’m still unemployed but thanks to my good friend Kaleb I was able to go. This is the one song that stood out to me. And even though I already had it on my computer I had not yet heard it. The word “hope” is what I read when I researched this song online. I would have to agree, this song is all about hope. I love the feeling and emotion this track brings.

Song of the Week 06/22/09 – 06/28/09

Artist: Cass & Slide (feat. Naimee Coleman) – Perception (New Vocal Mix)
Album: N/A (featured on In Search of Sunrise 2)
Genre: Trance
Released: 2000
Rating:5/5
Lyrics (coming soon)

Wow. I’ve been listening to this track ever since 12th grade. It was featured on Tiesto’s In Search of Sunrise 2 compilation. I can remember listening to this walking to school. It’s such an eerie, chill and haunting piece of music. The vocals are great. I found a new love with this song this year. I’ve always really liked it and it has remained great through the years. Trance producers really don’t make tracks like this these days.

“You can see forever”

Song of the Week 06/15/09 – 06/21/09

Algarve – The Longest Journey (Alex M.O.R.P.H. Remix)
Album: N/A
Genre: Trance
Released: 2007
Rating: 5/5

One of the most powerful trance songs you’ll ever hear. The original is great but this remix is a bit newer and takes the song to another level. I’m addicted to this track now. This is the definition of “uplifting trance.”

Ohmna – The Sun’ll Shine (Sunrise Mix)

I used to like this track a bit back when it came out, but I only really enjoyed the last half of the song. I’ve been doing a lot of edits for my iPod and this was on of them. Here’s the best part of the song, it’s very addicting and exciting.

At first I didn’t like this song THAT much. But after hearing it over and over I started to love it. The music video is PERFECT. Great lyrics and sound. Just a great all around song. Every guy in the world has thought these lyrics out in his head over a girl.

Wow. I got fired from my job and I’ve been lazy. My XBOX360 broke :( … so I’m finally doing this update as of 06/22/09. My apologizes. Anyways during the end of May, I was listening to this song like crazy. I discovered this back in about 11th grade. It’s a great song with beautiful, meaningful lyrics. My brother Anthony loves this song. I have a very special memory with someone with this song. It’s a very simple memory but I’ve always thought about it. Enjoy!

No Angels – There Must Be An Angel
Album: Elle’ments (Special Winter Edition)
Released: 2001
Genre: Euro House
Rating: 5/5
Lyrics (Coming Soon)

I always liked this song, well actually at first I hated it. I think my Uncle Chuck or Aunt Marina was first to listen to it and I heard through them. This is back in the Simi days. So yeah I still have the song laying around and this past week I just listened to it a lot. I can barely stand to watch the music video because it’s so bad, but I’ve grown to LOVE this song. Maybe you should just listen to the song and NOT watch the video. (I had to find another video on youtube, because they won’t let me embed mine here).

Hideyuki Fukasawa – Overpass Stage -Tokyo-

This song is out of this world. I’ve listened to it so much. I think it’s the best song I’ve heard in any fighting game ever. I put this on repeat from time to time. Some people think they lyrics are:

Won’t be long till I see you, babe
Won’t be long till I see you
Won’t be long till I see you, babe
And it won’t be long
